Planning for Fiji

Malcolm has just got back from Fiji where he was conducting a site visit for the upcoming Sony Entertainment conference in September.

After having such a fantastic time in Queenstown last year, Sony wanted a new destination but with the same vitality and excitement - Fiji was the perfect choice. As well as conferencing, Sony love to have fun so the QT Events team are delighted to be looking after this group again for the second year running.

The QT Amazing Race takes place in Queenstown and includes exciting activities such as jet boating, gondola and luge rides, abseiling, bungy and kayaking. The QT Remarkable Race takes place at the iconic Remarkables Ski Field. Covidien returns to Queenstown

In March/April the Covidien Healthcare Incentive returned to Queenstown for the second time. The 50 attendees were from a variety of countries across Asia including Singapore, China, India, Thailand and Korea. The group spent 5 nights at Millbrook Resort and enjoyed a full program of activities including rafting, helicopter flights, Milford Sound, jet boating and 4wd trips as well as some incredible dining experiences at Flame Bar and Grill, Amisfield Winery, Skyline restaurant, Walter Peak Homestead and Millbrook itself. Thank you to all of the operators involved in making this incentive such a success – once again the organisers were in awe of Queenstown.

New Staff Members

Vicky Jenkins

We are very pleased to have Vicky Jenkins join the team at QT Events on 14 February as Operations Manager. Originally from the UK, Vicky has lived and worked in Queenstown for almost seven years. Since September 2005 she has been employed as the Functions Manager for local activity operator Real Journeys, responsible for all sales and operations for the conference and incentive market.

With an in-depth knowledge of Queenstown and the C&I market in New Zealand, Vicky is a great addition to the team and will look after marketing and operations at QT Event Management.

Kimberly Whitelaw

Kim joined the team at QT Events just before the New Year. Originally from the North of Scotland, Kim relocated to New Zealand almost two years ago. Since leaving University she has worked in the design industry in London before leaving to travel and settle in Queenstown.

With a fresh outlook on design, Kim will be a valuable addition to the team.

Computer Vision at the Rydges

QT Events recently organised the Tenth Asian Conference in Computer Vision at the Rydges Hotel in Queenstown. The conference was spread over 5 days and attracted over 400 delegates from Asia, Europe and North America. Thanks to the 5 hotels who helped us accommodate such a large group!
